BRIGHTON YSL RACE TEAM INFO
for February 11, 2012

Tune your race skis! Get them fast and sharp!

All athletes: be on the snow in front of the Milly Chalet ready to ski at 8:00 AM

Parking will be by the LDS church, behind the Milly Chalet, carpool if you can.

Coaches will meet kids and go up the lift for inspection at 9:00 AM. Race starts at 10:00 AM with J6 girls -> J6 boys -> J5 girls -> J4 girls -> J5 boys -> J4 boys -> awards! Coaches at the YSL this Saturday: Chris, Lyndsey, Jason, Eric and Hunter.

Donna and Tanja (Madison and KyAnn's mom's) will be coordinating getting our team bibs handed out and checking in our team members. Donna is the "team mom" for the day, so if your athlete has a bag or a lunch, let Donna know where you are putting it, so she can help them find it after their run. NO BAGS in the Milly Chalet, so plan on stashing stuff over by the timing shack.

All parent volunteers should have received an email about where they are going and what time they are meeting. If you have any questions, let Jim Ruelle or Becky Stone know asap.

Coaches will be skiing with athletes before, during and after the race. If you leave early, please check in with Donna or a coach so we know you are taking your athlete home early.

Awards will be about 30 minutes after the last racer. We will give out medals to the top 10 in each age category for each gender. We have 156 athletes registered for the race, and 60 medals to give away. This means a LOT of happy kids! We want everyone to stay and ski and cheer for the awards. The teams that will be in attendance are: Rowmark, Solitude, Sundance, Brianhead, Alta, Snowbird, and of course: BRIGHTON!!!

Past weekend at park city and future training and races

Alright so as you all know we had a few unfortunate instances happen at park city, however we still had a few great runs to go along with it, but now that's behind us so let's move on and focus on what we have ahead of us. This weekend there is a south series gs race again at park city, however I was thinking we should maybe stay back and train at Brighton because it has been a while since we have had a full day of training, let me know what you all think about the idea. If there are some of you that would like to go and some want to stay back we could accommodate for that as well. Something else I would you all to ponder are the 2 slaloms and 2 gs races at snowking the 18-21 of February. Let me know what you all would like to do, hopefully if we do go we can get a few more of your teammates to come along. Tomorrow night we will be training slalom so come prepared with your game faces on. Coach Drew

GREAT day at Brighton Today! Thanks to all the parents who helped with the ski school course, and with the team BBQ!
Tomorrow is MORE OF THE SAME! Training is open for anyone coming up to Brighton, J6's will need a parent with them. Training course will be set by Chris, and the ski school course will be open as well.
We will have the grill fired up again, but it will be a "bring your own and BBQ your own" so if you want to have a hot lunch, bring it on up. Charcoal is already there!
Thank you, Jim, for being the Grill-master today!
***********************************************************************************
Next weekend is the Brighton YSL and the Park City South Series. Discuss with your coach and your athlete where they will be racing. We are looking forward to an AWESOME weekend again!
